I didn't expect a tiny utility canister to change my whole routine in Arc Raiders, but that's what happened the first time I pulled a Shaker out of a dusty crate. I'd been chasing better guns and sturdier plates like everyone else, scrolling through ARC Raiders Items lists and assuming "real power" meant bigger damage numbers. Then I equipped the Shaker and realised it isn't about stats at all. It's a handheld problem-solver that turns noise into control, and once you get a feel for it, you start seeing the map differently.



What It Actually Does
The Shaker isn't a toss-and-forget gadget. You select it, your Raider grips the canister, and you literally shake it. The sound comes out in this steady, almost metronome-like rattle that carries farther than you'd think. Sure, it can chip enemies if they crowd right up on it, but that's not the point. The point is the sound pulse itself. In a game where one wrong footstep can drag a patrol onto your head, being able to choose where the attention goes feels unfair in the best way.



Using Height And Corners
The first time it clicked for me was in a built-up zone with broken stairwells and open courtyards. I'd climbed to a higher ledge because I was panicking, not because I had a plan. Below me were heavier bots sweeping back and forth, and I knew if I fired, I was done. So I shook the canister instead. Immediately, their movement changed. Heads turned. Patrol lines tightened. They drifted toward the sound like it was a magnet. From above, you can watch the AI "decide" to investigate, and it gives you a second or two to breathe and pick your next move.



Turning Noise Into Team Plays
Once you're thinking that way, the Shaker becomes a teamwork tool. 1) You can pull a group off a doorway so a teammate can cross a street. 2) You can keep enemies looking up at a balcony while someone flanks low. 3) You can buy time for a revive without having to dump ammo. It's risky, yeah, because you're basically announcing yourself, but you're also choosing the shape of the fight. And in Arc Raiders, that's often worth more than another magazine.



Why I Keep Packing It
I still love a clean rifle and solid armour, but the Shaker hits a different itch. It rewards patience, positioning, and a bit of nerve. You start to play like a scavenger, not a turret—listen first, move second, make the machines chase the wrong idea.
